Description

This course will teach the student about the history and culture of Latin America (inlcuding Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean Islands, and South America) from the time of European contact to the present day. Emphasis will be placed on the diversity of people and cultures of the regions. and how major historical events, both past and very recent, have shaped the everyday lives of the people who lived there and who still do today. Prerequisites: HI103 or HI104 and Junior Standing.
