Welcome to the New Academic Year

Dear Oakwood Family,

Welcome to a new academic year at Oakwood University! This is a place where faith is nurtured, excellence is pursued, and community is cherished. Whether you are stepping onto our campus for the first time or returning to continue your journey, we are thrilled to have you with us. You are not just students here; you are part of a family that believes in your potential and is committed to supporting you every step of the way.

As you prepare for the year ahead, I encourage you to take a moment to explore some important resources that will help you thrive during your time at Oakwood:

  • The Student Handbook – Your guide to navigating campus life, services, resources, and opportunities.
  • The Student Code of Conduct – A reflection of the values we hold dear: integrity, respect, and accountability.
  • The Dress Code Policy – A standard that encourages modesty, professionalism, and mutual respect.
  • The Residential Life Guide – Whether you live on or off campus, this guide helps you foster a positive and comfortable residential community.
  • The Title IX Policy – A vital commitment to ensuring a safe, inclusive, and equitable environment for all.

These are not just policies; they are part of the framework that supports your academic, personal, and spiritual growth. Please take the time to read them carefully and know that we are here to answer any questions you may have.

As you begin this new chapter, remember that you are not alone. The Division of Student Life & Mission is here to support, encourage, and uplift you. We believe in your dreams and are excited to see all that you will accomplish.

Together, let’s make this year one of growth, discovery, purpose, and excellence.

With heartfelt blessings,
