January 13, 2022 – 5:15 p.m.

Dear Oakwood University Students, Families, and Supporters —

Greetings from your University! I trust you had a great start to Spring Semester 2022 which began virtually on January 5, 2022.  On campus, face-to-face instruction will begin on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, because virtual instruction concludes on Monday, January 17, 2022.

Oakwood University continues to daily monitor the surge in COVID cases. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) identified the risk of a fast rise in Omicron variant infections on December 20, 2021 (CDC-Omicron Variant).  Given the recent rise in COVID-19 cases associated with the Omicron variant, which appears to be more readily transmissible than the Delta variant, and the obstacles posed by cancelled flights, the University amended its Spring Semester 2022 reopening plan.  Please see below.
